OXII stands for zerododici, but also evokes oxygen a breath of fresh air in the discourse of architecture and design. The project centers on the complete refurbishment of a semi basement in the heart of Milan, formerly known as Spazio Bocca. Once a venue for arts, crafts, and books, it has now been transformed into a combined studio and exhibition space. Upon entering, the kitchen becomes the first point of gathering, while the “materioteca” (materials library) serves as a filter between the entrance and the working area. The floor plan is clean and straightforward: all central furniture elements are fully modular and can be dismantled to convert the space into an exhibition venue during the Milan Design Week. Materials remain neutral black and white throughout, except in the central work area, where the warm tone of maple wood introduces a touch of brightness and comfort, making the daily workspace feel more welcoming.
Location: Milan, Italy
Design: zerododici architecture
Design Team: Arch. Achim Reifer, Arch. Emanuele Melli
Realisation: Local
