The client inherited a 125 sqm apartment in the Vizze Valley, Northern Italy a place rich in personal memory, as it was the home where he spent his childhood. The surrounding Alpine landscape remains largely untouched, due to the valley’s isolated location and minimal tourism, offering a rare sense of peace and natural beauty.
The aim of the project is to refurbish the apartment into a charming holiday retreat, tailored for relaxation, reading, cooking, and the practice of the Chinese Tea Ceremony.
The entire design centers around the idea of harmonious balance, expressed through a well composed floor plan that features a spacious library, quiet sleeping areas, a generous kitchen, and a dedicated Tea Room.
Two large panoramic windows are introduced to strengthen the connection with the landscape:
One in the library, allowing the client to read and study while gazing toward the mountains;
Another in the Tea Room, oriented westward to capture the afternoon sun and visually connect to the garden located one floor above.
Type: Refurbishment
Design: zerododici architecture
Design Team: Arch. Achim Reifer, Arch. Emanuele Melli
Visualization: zerododici architecture
Project: on going...
